There have been some exciting developments on-site in Zirobwe. Last month, thanks to the generous contribution of a dear friend of Empower a Child, we installed a solar powered pump for the well. This renewable energy is pumping on average of 5,000 liters of water an hour for the community. Last year this community had to retrieve their water from natural springs, which could be easily contaminated, or a community hand pump well where they would line up early in the morning just to pump a few liters of water for their daily needs. Now families in Zirobwe just walk on site and turn on a faucet to fill up their jerry cans.
